Ebola outbreak in DRC

The Red Cross Red Crescent movement continues to respond to the Ebola outbreak that was declared in North Kivu province on 1 August.  Teams of specialists have been deployed to affected areas, including safe and dignified burial teams. The main Red Cross activities include safe and dignified burials, information sharing in communities, and improving water and sanitation systems, specifically in prisons. The teams are also supporting hospitals and health facilities with infection prevention and control measures, including two tents to Beni Hospital for triage and isolation of patients. An international appeal for 9.1 million CHF has been launched in support of all Red Cross partners operations.
