Geneva (ICRC) - The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) arrives in Libya today, Monday, February 12, to take stock of the humanitarian situation.

In the course of his three-day visit, Peter Maurer will meet with Libyan authorities at the highest level in Tripoli, Tobruk and Benghazi to discuss topics of concern to the ICRC. Mr. Maurer will also witness the situation on the ground during his first visit to Libya as ICRC President.

Mr. Maurer will share observations from his visit and from his exchanges with the authorities and with civil society representatives during a news conference that will take place in Germany on February 16 at 11.30 at the Munich Security Conference press center in room "Theatiner." The news conference will be live-streamed on the ICRC Twitter account @ICRC.
